University of New Haven Announces Partnership with Hartford HealthCare to Operate On-Campus Health Center, Expand Virtual Care Opportunities for Students
New affiliation will also feature Connecticut's largest healthcare network overseeing the university’s counseling and psychological services and athletic training for student-athletes.

The University of New Haven and announced a groundbreaking new partnership in which Connecticut’s largest healthcare network will operate the university’s on-campus student health center.
In addition to managing the student health center, Hartford HealthCare will oversee the university’s counseling and psychological services, ensuring that students have access to comprehensive and coordinated mental health care.
The collaboration will also extend to athletic training, providing specialized sports medicine and rehabilitation care for the university’s .
A key feature of this partnership will enhance on-campus services that will offer virtual care options, ensuring that University of New Haven students can access medical support anytime, anywhere. Through Hartford HealthCare’s telehealth platform, students can connect with healthcare professionals for urgent care visits, mental health consultations, chronic condition management, and follow-up appointments—all from the convenience of their University housing or homes. This seamless integration of virtual care provides timely diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of conditions, from allergies and rashes to sprains and behavioral health, UTIs, earaches, coughs, colds, flu and much more.
This marks Hartford HealthCare’s first collaboration with a university utilizing this advanced technology, setting a new standard for student healthcare.

The new partnership will officially begin this summer in advance of the start of the 2025-26 academic year, with plans for expansion and enhancement in the future.
